News - We collected 7 segues from today's show: One Tyrus and Joni welcome you, well...sort of. Actually Tyrus is a little confused when he comes to make the show this week. It seems things are not where he remembers them to be...he cannot find Joni. He has forgotten her promise to stay in bed... Two Tyrus and Joni talk about the migration of well known local columnist Michael Wolcott to the blogosphere at High Country News Michael, back country scrivener, of a vein similar to Thoreau+Abbey ...wrote a column named Notes From The Edge for Flagstaff Live for years...So, he will be offering a weekly column for those of us who have always followed his outdoor musings with curiosity and pine needles between our toes. Three  It's that time of year again... Tyrus and Joni talk about the Museum of Northern Arizona and their 19th Annual Zuni Festival of Arts and Culture from the 22nd -24th. Four Tyrus and Joni talk about the hardship this recession has brought to our local schools ~ and we know how this will impact athletic programs in our community...They have an idea for a small way to help raise monies for local High School sports programs: Because the Rotary Club is rehabilitating the entrance gate and kiosk at Buffalo Park, restoration actually, there will be a space for non-profit groups to vend beverages and such to the hikers, joggers and bicycle riders who frequent the Park. Five Tyrus and Joni talk about our inclination, as a culture or a community, to make light of, and commemorate in some way, those tragedies that befall us... it is interesting and speaks to Tony's offering this week. Six Joni and Tyrus talk about her name sounds like something from the '50's and Tyrus apologizes about getting the weather so wrong last week...  Seven Adieu ~ from the mountain village ~ hamlet place ~ town that time forgot...that we love....

Brian Grubbe - of the Recreation Dept. plays host to our Parks and Recreation segment here this week.,,, at Flagstaff's Thorpe Park Community and Senior Center with Matt Faull. Again, Flagstaff is lucky to have had the great sense to put good times revenues to tangable community assets. The activities this center offers, like a meals program for seniors, scrabble, billiards, a weight room, a lending library, dancing programs and internet access only scratch the surface of this most excellent facility.

Cityscape- Our City info magazine gets its own segment now. This week we find corrections to the print edition amd a reminder that many casual inquiries about City scheduling, trach pick up...your council members email address', are all readily available on the print or online versions of this publication.

Kimberly Ott - This week Kimberly helps us remember that Bike To Work Week is HERE this week!!! Visit the City Website to keep up on other such info in our community.

AZDailySun - Editor Randy Wilson hosts our AZ Daily Sun segment this week: Reporter Daniel Berk gives us the sports roundup this week. Betsy Bruner givest an interesting, and timely, report she filed on Jim Mast, master gardener. And in closing Randy catches up with Joe Ferguson who tells us the Orpheum is keeping their doors open, yeah...!, and Horizon Air will be continuing with their highly affordable air service to flights ~ nice.

James Frazier - You probably have noticed, these past few months, the rather well done 30 second "Historic Flagstaff Arizona" pieces we run in the show. These are done for FLAGNEWS by a really first tier commercial artist and compositor ~ James Frazier. So ... if anyone out there is looking to support local artists... TV commercials, anyone?... .you may want to consider James. He provides us with such great civic moments as these as a gesture of service. We want to you to support those who support local community news. Check out his portfolio!

Tony Norris - In a sort of memoir moment this week Tony takes us back to his Texas childhood ~ back to warm early summer nights of sleeping out in the yard, a big Texas night and a curious song his mother used to sing. For more of Tony, his performance schedule, his world view and thoughts on springtime visit his website.

Mitzy Bellini - Just got back from her European bicycle tour. We're convinced she was just getting herself in shape for this year's Bike To Work Week here in FLAG. Mitzy as, usual, has all the tips on the haps in and around our little town by the big mountain. You can always e-mail activities you would like mentioned at

Tyrus - Gives the weather... again ~ last week Tyrus earned the "most likely not to get the weather 100%" award. While he called for wet weather last weekend ... it turned out to be as dry as a bone. This week he steps up to the plate again to see if he can at least get a hit...get on base with... more dry, warm weather.
